About Us
Welcome to Papa Sal's: A Taste of Italy in the Heart of Clay! Embark on an unforgettable Italian culinary journey at Papa Sal's, where our family's passion for authentic Sicilian flavors comes to life in every dish. Nestled in the close-knit community of Clay, right across from the Clay Post Office on Old Springville Road, we're a family-owned Italian restaurant that believes great food brings us all together. A Tale of Flavor, Family, and Heritage Our founder, Sal Cifuentes, made a name for himself in Birmingham by crafting incredible Italian experiences. His love for small towns and family-oriented communities inspired his son, Keith Cifuentes, to continue his father's vision at Papa Sal's.
From running Sal's Italian Restaurant in Springville to Fratelli's in Odenville, our family has been wowing diners for generations with culinary excellence. Now, we bring the best of our Sicilian heritage to the heart of Clay. The Papa Sal's Experience: A Feast for the Senses At Papa Sal's, we're proud of our time-honored recipes, passed down through generations, and our commitment to using the finest ingredients like imported pasta and made-from-scratch salad dressings.
Feast on our signature dish: the tender, fresh-cut ribeye steak, marinated to perfection and cooked with amore using an heirloom family recipe. Or tantalize your taste buds with a symphony of traditional delights, from lasagna and manicotti to eggplant parmigiana and baked ravioli. Don't forget our mouthwatering sandwiches and fresh, crisp salads that perfectly complement our restaurant's warm, welcoming atmosphere. Indulge in the Taste of Italy at Papa Sal's Step into Papa Sal's, a beloved part of the Clay community where friends and family gather to share warm smiles, fond memories, and the most divine Sicilian flavors. Buon appetito!

Listen. I have been craving a good chicken parm lately and really didn’t want to deal with Olive Gardens prices. Well, I am so glad I have Papa Sal’s a shot because the price AND quality is better than Olive Garden’s , HANDS DOWN. Definitely will be back!

Baked lasagna, 3 meat calzone and an antipasto salad was all very tasty as expected. Large portions for lunch with enough leftover to take home for supper too. If you're looking for Italian food from a family owned business, this is the one🇮🇹

Though it is a relatively small space for dining, it boasts an amazing menu and some of the friendliest faces you could ask for. The veal was excellent and the portions far bigger than most. Highly recommend again and again!!!

Got the Rib Eye w/baked potato and vegetables, came with salad & garlic bread. My husband and myself split this dinner it was plenty enough for us and very good. Next time...the pasta. Always good food at great prices. Still good as always

We are regulars here, at least once a week. I always get the lasagna… it’s perfect! My wife tries different things they are always good. They are also less expensive than any other decent restaurant in town. Give them a try. I think you’ll love them as much as we do!
